AnglerTally is designed to help fishing clubs manage match and league data safely.
This page summarises the security measures used by AnglerTally.
1. Account security
- User accounts require password authentication.
- Passwords are stored securely using hashing.
- Role-based access controls separate platform admins and club admins.
- Club admins should only access their own club data.
2. Club data separation
AnglerTally is designed so club admins can only access data belonging to their own club.
Platform admins can manage the platform and support clubs.
3. Encryption
AnglerTally should be served over HTTPS in production.
HTTPS helps protect data in transit between the user’s device and the app.
4. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe or another payment provider.
AnglerTally does not store raw card numbers or CVC codes.
5. PWA and offline drafts
AnglerTally can be installed as a Progressive Web App.
Poor Signal Mode may store match-day drafts locally on a user’s device.
This can include:
- Angler names
- Peg numbers
- Sections
- Weights
- Statuses
- Notes
Users should avoid using shared devices for match-day entry unless they understand this data may be temporarily stored on that device.
6. Offline sync protection
AnglerTally is designed to prevent offline drafts from overwriting published matches.
Club admins should always check results before publishing.
7. Backups
We aim to maintain backups appropriate to the service.
Backup frequency, retention and restoration procedures may depend on the hosting environment and package.
8. Monitoring
We may use logs and monitoring tools to detect errors, suspicious activity and performance issues.
We do not currently use a dedicated error monitoring provider. If this changes, this page will be updated.
9. Customer responsibilities
Club admins should:
- Use strong passwords
- Keep login details private
- Remove access for people who no longer need it
- Review public result settings
- Check results before publishing
- Clear local drafts from shared devices
- Keep their browser/device secure
