Legal obligation
We process information where required for tax, accounting, legal or regulatory reasons.
Consent
Where required, we may ask for consent, for example for optional marketing or non-essential analytics/cookies.
5. Club data and angler data
Where a club admin adds angler or match data into AnglerTally, the club is usually responsible for deciding what data is added and why.
In that situation:
- The club is usually the data controller.
- AnglerTally usually acts as the data processor.
- The club should ensure it has an appropriate lawful basis for adding angler information.
- The club should make sure public result settings are suitable for its members.
Our Data Processing Agreement explains this relationship in more detail.
6. Public results
Clubs can choose to publish public match results and league tables.
Public pages may include:
- Angler names
- Peg numbers
- Sections
- Weights
- Points
- Positions
- Section wins
- League standings
Club admins are responsible for reviewing results before publishing.
If you are an angler and want your information corrected or removed from a public result, contact your club first. You can also contact us at privacy@anglertally.com.
7. PWA installation and local device storage
If you install AnglerTally to your device as a PWA, your browser/device may store:
- App icons
- App shell files
- Cached assets
- Session information
- Offline fallback page
- Local match-day drafts
If you use a shared device, other people with access to that device may be able to see locally stored unsynced match drafts.
You should clear local drafts after syncing if you are using a shared or public device.
8. Who we share information with
AnglerTally currently uses a small number of service providers to operate the app. These may include website/database hosting, email hosting, Stripe for payments and subscriptions, domain/DNS services, and backup services. We do not currently use a dedicated analytics provider or dedicated error monitoring provider. If this changes, this policy will be updated.
We only share information where necessary and where appropriate safeguards are in place.
9. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK.
Where this happens, we will use appropriate safeguards where required, such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections.
10. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as necessary.
Typical retention periods:
- Account data: while the account is active
- Club data: while the club account is active
- Match and league data: while retained by the club
- Billing records: up to 7 years where needed for tax/accounting
- Security logs: normally up to 12 months unless needed longer
- Support records: normally up to 3 years
- Offline drafts: stored locally on the user’s own device until synced, cleared or removed
When a club cancels, we may retain data for a limited period to allow reactivation, export, legal compliance, dispute handling or backup expiry.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information
